In the auction site, this pen was just sold for around 505 yuan,

which is very nice price for this uncommon Parker vacumatic Pen. Congratulations to the winner! A great buy, but not a steal.

The point I want to raise here is: Is this really a Maxima? I believe not.
Length-wise, it is the same as a Maxima (later called "Slender Maxima"). But the cap's band is wrong. Indeed, there is a "Senior Maxima" which is of the same length but much thicker. If you are interested in various kinds of vacs, you can see here: http://www.vacumania.com/websitesales/soldpensparkervacumatic.htm

It has only one REAL (Slender) Maxima in red, which was sold for US$545! (brown and silver colors are cheaper, but still ...)! So, ... you should know what to do when you see a real Maxima next time!

The information from http://parkerpens.net/parker/vacumatic.shtml, which only has the length information attached to each model, is incomplete and misleading.

真空可玩性在古董笔里数一数二，很便宜的也有，贵死人的也有，跨度很大，变种繁多。逐步升级是新笔迷首选之路，不必一下子就上到一定高度，那样消退得也快，基础不够扎实。老宋的那个观点跟我是一样的，要想买到好的，计较价格是无谓的...:)

同意，笨笨兄这个观点在GOLDEN WEB和几个特殊品种上是完全正确的；另就普遍性而言，同款中大号肯定是最贵的，这点在我收藏的一个真空特殊品种里尤为突出。:)

我这里只是想探讨一个“学术问题”：这到底是不是MAXIMA？
其实不管是不是，老宋的最后价钱也是非常好的。
