I have recd the following reply from Pelikan Germany:
"
Please be informed that our nibs were stamped with this hallmark in
earlier times.
It is a French customs hallmark: P N : P = Pelikan and N was the specil
French
marking. The European Regulations has changed and this hallmark was not
necessary
anymore. Therefore today our nibs do not have this hallmark anymore.
It is no depreciation that you have a fountain pen with this nib, the
value is still
the same. "

Hari

The nib on M1000 is "PF" marked, which I heard represents "Pelikan Fabriziert" ( Pelikan Made). Now I am really puzzled...

Quote--
what the stamps mean is that they are destined for those locations, not produced there. All nibs are produced in Germany at the two locations I mentioned.
The information that I provided on the post that you cited was, I fear, incorrect. When I went to the factory in 2009 I asked about the PF and was told that it is a customs imprint, not indicating the source or where the nib was made. My earlier information about " Pelikan Fabrik" was simply incorrect.
