“所罗门的荣华”兄翻译了Penhero对Sheaffer 帝国笔款的评价（【译】半个世纪的王朝背影——犀飞利·帝国详细介绍），但是最后的评价没翻译，恰好也很喜欢这笔，就随手翻译了，如下：

I focused this review on an Imperial IV,the quintessential Imperial pen. The test pen was fitted with a very smoothfine nib. A very lightweight pen, the Imperial IV is full size, at 5 3/8 incheslong capped and 5 5/8 inches posted, but very slender in the hand.

评价重点关注西华帝国IV代墨水笔，典型的帝国笔款。这是一支全尺寸墨水笔，盖帽长5 3/8英寸（约13.65厘米），戴帽长5 5/8（约14.28厘米），但是握感苗条。测试用笔为较为顺滑的F尖，笔重量较轻。

The plastic bodied Touchdown pen is alightweight capped or uncapped. A big contrast to the all-metal pens soldtoday. This is a light pen. Perhaps because of this, the Imperial IV is wellbalanced in the hand either capped or posted, and zings along the page withlittle effort. This is a good pen for people who easily tire from a heavy pen.

The fit and finish is excellent, there isno sign that this pen was intended as a lower end model. There seems a littleless pen here compared to the Snorkel and PFM that proceed it, but a lot ofthat is due to the simpler mechanism. Cartridge Imperials are numbingly simplepens. The Sheaffer "loss-proof" spring-loaded clip is a nice touchthat goes back to the 1940s and makes the pen nice and secure in the pocket.

The Touchdown is simple to use and the penfills very easily with one downstroke. The Touchdown is fun to use, eventhought the pen needs to be wiped after filling. Too bad Sheaffer never fit aSnorkel on these pens.

Toudown上水系统简单易用，推拉一次就能轻松吸墨。即使笔吸墨后需要擦干墨迹（注：与蚊吸相比，蚊吸不笔尖不与墨水直接接触），Toudown使用起来也比较有趣。

The fine nib is very smooth and writes witha nice, even line. The tip is slightly upturned and has a nice sweet spot. Thenib is firm, but I have tried other Imperials that have a bit of give in thenib that is quite nice and expressive. This is usually found in the wider nibpens.

F尖较为顺滑，甚至能够书写出均匀的直线。笔尖轻微向上翘起，铱粒完美。嵌入尖比较牢固，也曾尝试过其他帝国笔款，表现同样留下深刻印象。这种感受多能在宽（明）尖笔上体会到。

Imperials are great everyday pens. TheTouchdown is very easy to repair and the cartridge pens are usually ready towrite as found. Imperials aren't the highly sought after treasures of the penworld, but if one is looking for a great daily user pen at very reasonableprices, an Imperial makes a good companion. Where the lower end Imperials arenot especially sought after or expensive, the Imperial VI and VIII commanddecent premiums, while the Triumph and solid gold Masterpiece pens will commanda real premium. A great pen to add to your collection. Definitely try to find aTouchdown model, and if you are looking for an "example" pen, focuson an Imperial IV or VI.

帝国是极好的日用笔款，Touchdown上水系统易于修理，卡水笔款则到手即用。帝国不是墨水笔笔圈子里被推崇的笔，但是如果你寻找的是一支价格适中的日用好笔，帝国将是不错的伙伴。低端的帝国并不是太受欢迎，但是帝国VI和帝国VIII要价较高，而“胜利”笔款和实金的“杰作”笔款能获得更高溢价。帝国IV是值得加入到你的墨水笔收藏之中的。一定要拥有一支Touchdown的帝国，如果你追寻一支“样板”帝国笔款，关注帝国IV和帝国VI吧。
