As an allusion to the "roots of the brand", Montblanc is now reviving its first safety fountain-pen with integrated ink-tank. The cap is brilliant red, the distinctive body black and the name unforgettable: "Rouge et Noir", after Stendhal. Together with a travelling ink-well, historically inspired instructions, slipcover and casket, an outstanding and precious Edition for collectors of writing instruments and admirers of special things. The Edition is limited to 100 pieces. </p><p>Rouge et Noir - the foundation stone of a global brand </p><p>Its name is legendary, its development wrote cultural history: Rouge et Noir. It is seen as the precursor of all Montblanc fountain-pens and laid the foundation for a company history now reaching back 100 years.</p><p>At the turn of the 19th century, flexibility and mobility were the driving forces behind the Industrial Revolution. The invention of the automobile, the development of railway networks, steamers travelling around the world. A time characterised by the spirit of innovation and striving for individual mobility. In the year 1906, the vision of a perfect fountain-pen was born. Technically revolutionary: its integrated ink-tank, which guaranteed ease of use even on journeys - without having to put the nib repeatedly into an ink-well. It was the first really perfected safety fountain-pen in the world, reliable and leak-proof, and could be used everywhere. Its name: Rouge et Noir. </p><p>Montblanc "Rouge et Noir"- <br/>the outstanding edition of a once-in-a-century fountain-pen </p><p>To pay homage to 100 years of Montblanc and to the roots of a company history borne by the passion for traditional craftsmanship, Montblanc is presenting the fascinating "Rouge et Noir" Edition. With the revival of this early safety fountain-pen, a myth of writing culture is brought back to life. Like one century ago, craftsmen′s hands have made the black, distinctively shaped fountain-pen with its red cap from vulcanised rubber and have fitted it with the original filling system - but this time in a very limited edition. A special highlight is the 18-carat gold nib. It is decorated with the classical heart-shaped hole engraved in historical Montblanc style.</p><p>Authentic in design and material, the travelling inkwell is of black ebonite and avantgarde design. Together with historically inspired instructions and a carton slipcover of original design, it completes the "Rouge et Noir" Edition. The title of Stendahl′s novel was used as the name of what was then the first safety fountain-pen.</p> |
